Why Is The Liver Important?
The liver is the largest solid organ inside your body with its size close to that of a football. It can be found in the upper right section of your abdomen performing over 500 different functions.
The liver works to regulate the contents of your blood from the stomach and intestines, filtering out toxins and digesting nutrients. It also stores vitamins, sugar, fats, and other nutrients from the food you eat.
If the liver cannot function efficiently, the health effects can be severe.

What Can Harm My Liver?
Diets containing food items with high amounts of fat and sugar can be very harmful to the liver over time.
Other factors that can also affect the condition of your liver include: metabolic disorders (such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and dyslipidemia), alcohol, viruses, prescription drugs, non-prescribed drug use, tobacco use, and cancer.
